What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is understood as a variety of conscious breathing techniques used to improve mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. It involves intentionally altering your breathing patterns to influence your nervous system, emotions, and state of consciousness.

These practices range from gentle, calming techniques that help balance your nervous system to more intense methods that induce altered states of consciousness for healing and self- exploration. Breathwork has been practiced for thousands of years in ancient traditions, including yoga (pranayama) and shamanic rituals, and has evolved into modern therapeutic practices.

Meet Madison Creel, your Mystical Professor

Madison is a Certified Breathwork Facilitator and a Certified Mystical Coach of Oneness. Through these methods, she empowers individuals to become their own healer by guiding them through a transformative process to identify and heal the deep subconscious programs preventing them from accessing their inner power and ultimately becoming a more whole and complete version of themselves.

Having spent the beginning of her professional life in the healthcare system, Madison saw first hand the effects of unresolved pain and trauma manifesting in patients' lives. She saw doctors and nurses addressing symptoms only to have patients re admitting for treatment within a few weeks. In addition, she saw the emotional impact health complications had on her patients and how it affected their recovery. This started her on the path to a more holistic approach to healing and addressing the underlying energies associated with pain, discontent and unhappiness with life.

As a continuing student of these practices, Madison is dedicated to her own growth and expansion, guiding others through the same process that she has and continues to undergo, as life is constantly giving you opportunities to evolve and grow. Knowing this work at an experiential level, Madison knows the efficacy of these approaches and has made it her life's work to guide others back to wholeness.

Accessing the Subconscious through Breathwork:
WPA 2001

Course Description:

Through this course we will explore various types of Breathwork, their purposes and benefits. We will focus on a Holotropic inspired Breathwork which allows you to bypass your mind to enter into an altered state of consciousness giving you easier access to your subconscious and higher self.

The states that are often achieved through the this type of practice can facilitate emotional healing, spiritual insights, and deep self-exploration by connecting individuals with their subconscious mind and tapping into the body's innate wisdom. Accessing altered states of consciousness can promote self-healing by releasing deeply held emotional or physical tension,
bringing unconscious material to awareness, and fostering integration of fragmented parts of the psyche. Many participants experience personal transformation and emotional liberation through this process.

In many cases, participants describe transcendental experiences, such as feeling connected to a greater universal consciousness, encountering archetypal symbols, or experiencing past-life memories. This aligns with the transpersonal psychology approach pioneered by Stanislav Grof, the creator of Holotropic Breathwork.

By engaging in deep, rhythmic breathing patterns over an extended period (for our sessions, 30 minutes), participants stimulate the nervous system and alter the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body. This controlled hyperventilation essentially helps you get out of your head and tap into what is underneath the surface, the subconscious. From here, we are able to see, feel and transmute stuck energies and wounds, often receiving profound insights that will help you along your healing journey.

Breathwork can be a very helpful tool when wanting to take your practice deeper while continuing to do the real inner work on yourself. Breathwork is never meant to be an alternative to doing the real work. You will receive the most benefit from this practice when using it in conjunction with the process and tools you have learned from The Power Within.
